2 bits of common courtesy. NOT
I can be a huge bitch, like bitch of the century, make you cry before you even know what I said that was so hateful bitch. But I am always polite to strangers. My mother taught me manners and because of that I say please and thank you, I hold open doors, I use the words "ma'am" and "sir," I hold open doors, I let people pull out when it is heavy traffic, I hold open doors, and I always hold open doors.
For the past several days, I have noticed that no one holds open doors for me, or anyone for that matter. As I have mentioned once or twice, I always hold open doors for strangers entering or exiting near me. Now, I don't think that I am higher than thou art where everyone must open doors and lay down a velvet carpet for me, but I do think that if you walk in a door right before me that it would be polite to hold it open and take just twelve seconds more, especially since you have already gotten all the germs on your hands and I would prefer not to get them on mine. I am even more irritated when people don't hold the door and they are a man. It is even more rude in my eyes when a man does not hold a door for a woman, especially when I am a really cute one at that.
Furthermore, if you aren't going to hold the door for me when exiting a building, do not glare at me because I am in your way as I am about to enter if you are using the wrong door. Am I the only person in the world that knows that you use the door on the right side. It is like a street. You drive on the right side of the road; similarly, you need to walk on the right side of the hallway and use the right side door. Certainly if you are using the wrong door, you have no right to look at me like I am in YOUR way. You are in my way and you are rude.
Tis the season to be jolly. I will be jolly. Hold the damn door open. I'll consider it a gift and won't be pissed that you bought me nothing, regardless of the fact that we don't know one another.
