The last days of Christmas and reality sets in...

My "busy" schedule obviously put a hold on sharing the last few days of Christmas, but luckily they did exist even though the blogging on them did not.

On the 10th day of Christmas a rando gave to me ten glasses of margaritas!

Okay, it wasn't a rando, it was a Mexican man at the restaurant. I reunited with friends from out of town over what I anticipated being a few drinks, which turned into five pitchers for four people, which obviously turned into me being drunk off my ass on a Wednesday night. As my friend Lilly put it, "when we dropped you off, you seemed fine but when you called at 1:30 am I thought you had gone home and drank more." At the time, this was possibly the best day of Christmas for me, but then the hang over on Thursday came along and I was thankful that...

On the 11th day of Christmas a rando gave to me 11 episodes of TV.

My boss left town on Tuesday so I had not really been doing much at work anyways, but Thursday was no exception. Knowing that I would be the only person in the office that day, I came prepared to fix this hang over... with Season 2 of Sex And The City on DVD. Yes, you heard me right, I watched reruns of an old favorite on my computer all day long. I figured that it was no different than when I surf the web, which would take too much energy with the hang over that I had. Thank god that I had purchased this "gift" for myself on Black Friday or what would I have done all day??

On the 12th day of Christmas a rando gave to me 12 reminders that I am not in college anymore....

Because I had spent the last 22 Christmas Eves at my parents' house, it only seemed right that I should do it again this year. It also made me feel like I was young still, which I love, as usual. We spent the evening with family and going to church and then I headed off to bed for visions of sugar plums to dance in my head. When I awoke the next morning, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Well, actually it was Christmas morning so the kid part is the only thing that isn't necessarily true. I was stoked to start ripping open presents, which were abundant! As I unwrapped the gifts, I was getting everything that I had asked for. This NEVER happens. It was perfect. I loved everything. It was only later that I realized that all of these gifts that I was excited to have received revealed that I wasn't in college anymore and reality struck as I sat smiling at my new frying pan that had made my day.

They say that you are only as old as you feel. Quite frankly, I usually feel about 19 (not that 22 is that much older). I am going to continue to act like I am 19 forever, except when the 12th day of Christmas rolls around and I ask for practical gifts instead of things that I had wanted in the past, like cheap vodka.
