On a few more days of Christmas....

Yea, so Christmas cheer has obviously overwhelmed me for several days and I haven't been able to share what the lovely next few days of Christmas brought about, so here is an update...

On the 5th day of Christmas a rando gave to me, five wedding rings!

I have a real pet peeve with married men. It seems that everyone of them that I talk to have their hands in their pockets. And actually it isn't just married men, it is men with someone else in their lives in general. I am super easy going and personally I think that I would make a great companion (well, if you disregard my drinking habits, the fact that I curse like a sailor, my unwillingness to empty the dishwasher, and blatant disregard for other's feelings). So, as a result of my stellar personality, I am inevitably surrounded by men that adore me. Obviously that was an exaggeration, but seriously, I have some game. The problem is that I only have game with men that are either married, in a serious relationship, or have a psyco ex-girlfriend. The 5th day of Christmas was only slightly different, he had an ex-wife. And three kids. Baggage, Check.

So for this day of Christmas, just give me a guy with NO wedding rings, no girlfriends, and no baggage. Please and Thanks.

On the 6th day of Christmas a rando gave to me, six inches of snow!

... which in turn made the attendance list of Christmas bash that I had been looking forward to for the past month rather low. When I was applying for jobs six months ago, I made a point of doing so in locations where there was either NO snow, or very reliable public transportation. This town fits neither criteria. Remind me next year that for Christmas, I should plan my party in a tropical location, or in the middle of the summer.

On the 7th day of Christmas a rando gave to me, seven minutes of Sirius!

And yes, on Sunday, my Sirius Satellite radio subscription ran out. It had been a gift for the past 3 years and now it is gone. I am not a happy camper and I can't decide if I want to dedicate my OWN money to this cause. So now, for those of you that drive past me and see me singing loudly like usual, it is no longer to music but rather it is just to whatever song is in my head. Someone give me my radio back this holiday!

On the 8th day of Christmas a rando gave to me eight lbs of cheese!

Last night I decided to host a small dinner party. I love to cook and I am actually pretty good at it. The problem is that I rarely have all of the ingredients that I need because I only half-way read the directions before going to the supermarket. Well, knowing that this is a habit of mine, I decided to really plan out the dinner so that it would be perfect. One particular menu item that I was thrilled to include was a homemade Parmesan cup with rice. I found the recipe on Martha Stewart's website. She said they were easy to make. I thought the picture looked cool. Well, to make a long story short, an entire block of cheese later, I had cups that were more like saucers, that were neither easy to make nor cool looking. FAILURE. And to be honest, I didn't even think they tasted that good.

And now to the present... On the 9th day of Christmas a rando gave to me nine hours of sleep!

My work has a leave policy where you take time out of either your "annual leave" or your "sick leave." I am assuming you can guess for what you take each type of leave. This morning as I rolled over and realized that I hated my job and that I had stayed up until 1 am watching Weeds on DVD, wondering if I should take up the lifestyle of the characters on the program, I decided that this was a morning when I needed to have a "sick leave," you know since I was sick of work. I called and said that I had a doctor's appointment that I had forgotten about, which was true. The only issue was that the appointment that I forgot about was actually a week ago and I didn't show up for it. So, I went back to bed and got the two extra hours of sleep that I really wanted. No one missed me. No harm done and I am a slightly happy camper as a result! Merry Christmas day 9 to me!
