2010! What a way to begin...

I know what you are thinking.... long time no post, Jane must have given up failures as her New Year's resolution. Don't worry, I have just been preoccupied with other mindless activities for the past week or so. I have not forgotten to fail on a regular basis! Speaking of New Year's resolutions, I screwed up one of my within the first few hours of the new year. I decided that I was getting rid of randos in 2010. Sure the last decade of them was fun, but I'm an "adult" now so I really should consider cleaning up my act and behaving a little more maturely. Yep, that thought lasted about a bottle of champagne long. Take a hot tub, me drunk, and a rando and the result was well, an intense make-out sesh that made that resolution go right down the drain. Ooops!

Since I screwed up on my first plan, I decided to scratch that one (I never really liked it anyways) and start a different one. I have decided that I would try something new everyday in 2010. This could be a food, a recipe, an activity, whatever. So far, six days in and I have tried six new things. Good job, Jane! You haven't failed at something for a first. I'll get back to you in February and let you know how this is working out.

So what other nonsense have I involved myself in since the year began? To be honest, I haven't really done that much. Primarily because I haven't been given the opportunity to screw things up much. I guess you could say failure with learning to snowboard. I felt like it was a success, but ultimately the 5x7 size black, red, purple, and blue bruise on my hip would beg to differ. I didn't actually know that several of the muscles that are sore actually existed until this point. I also am questioning if I have brain damage from my gnarly flip that I did (accidentally) and landed on my head. It would be hard to tell if there was damage due to the massive number of brain cells that I am sure I killed with the rest of my NYE adventures. Sheesh. I sure know how to act like a grown up! At least I managed not to burn down the cabin that was in my name this past weekend!

On a side note, I would like to share the highlight of any NYE weekend story that I have heard yet. I asked my cousin how the wedding she went to was, her response (via text) was as follows:
Was good. The open bar was a mess. Greg went down the service elevator at 2 am to the basement looking for popcorn. Came back with a fairy statue. She will reside in our front yard. Royal mess.

And that my friends is why Jane is not to blame for being a failure from the start. It must be genetic!
