I am leaving in the morning for a trip to the Sunshine State (Florida... I am actually not positive that it is the Sunshine State, but it is a state and there is sun so that is what I am calling it) and I decided that I should probably verify that I am not trying to pack anything illegal in my carry-on bag. Usually this wouldn't be a problem because I check everything and pack whatever I want, but I discovered that apparently they want to charge me to check my bags and because I want to be a tightwad (yet will waste money to fly for a weekend trip for football and boozing), I must pack everything into a carry-on. After reviewing the AirTran Airways' list of Permitted and Prohibited items, I feel like I am safe to fly but am wonderig what kind of whackos are going to be on my flight that they need to list certain things...
Gel–filled bras and similar prosthetics – Gel–filled bras may be worn through security screening and aboard aircraft.
Seriously? Thanks AirTran for letting me wear my bra on your plane! It would be quite embarrassing if while going through security screening, you made me remove that so that the world could see how tiny my chest really is and so that you could see that in fact I do have on a gel filled bra.
Knives – except for plastic or round bladed butter knives.
Not allowed in my carry on?? Well, what do you propose that I spread my pb&j on the bread with... oh, that is right, I am not allowed to bring those items on the plane either, since they go under the "no" section of canned or jarred goods. Guess I will be hungry for my plane trip since you refuse to serve me free food anymore.
Personal lubricants
I am not even going to comment that this is a question for the plane ride. I mean I have heard of the mile high club but I don't think it is something that you plan out and bring your equipment for. Good news, however, whipped cream is listed as something allowed on the plane, so go ahead with that fun.
Toy Transformer Robots - yes
Why wouldn't one be able to bring this aboard?
Pagers yes
THANK GOD. I totally was nervous that my new technology device wouldn't make it through!
Sabers - no
Damn it. And it looks like I can't bring my sword aboard the aircraft either. They just take all the fun out of things these days.
Additionally, I was disappointed to see that I couldn't bring my baseball bat, hockey sticks, spear gun, or pool cue in my carry on. Guess we won't be having any fun games of whose an athlete. Maybe we can stick to Red Rover. I see no restrictions on that. I am sure once the fasten seat belts light is off that we will be smooth sailing on games.
It goes further to say that you may not bring weapons or martial arts equipment on board. Thanks for making sure people were aware?
No tools either, unless they are under 7 inches. Shit! Good thing we didn't invite a few of my old boyfriends.
Honestly folks, do you really need to be told some of these things. I really just wanted to know if I could bring my deodorant and hairspray in my carry on or if I was going to need to buy that when I reached the South. To answer your question, I can as long as they are in my quart sized zip lock and are under 3 oz.
